Our village team will be travelling to meet the Arsenal in April and have arranged a game with the B team. Consequently they need funds for the trip and a dinner was arranged for Friday night. We wondered if we could cope with the language in such a situation but we sat with the Brit contingent and managed to speak both languages sufficiently to have a great evening.
There must have been about 200 people there and the wine flowed freely all night. We had a lovely starter of fresh prawns (big ones of course), salad and pate and that was followed by large portions of beef stew with rice. Afters consisted of fruit salad and loads more wine. We danced the Conga with the entire village and arrived home totally knackered.
Today is the carnival and would you believe it, after several days of glorious warm sunshine, the weather is cloudy and cold with the threat of rain. Still as far as we know the carnival is going ahead and I will be down there with my camera to show you how it goes. More wine I suppose - can we stand the pace?
